Volunteer! We can't do it without you.
Our success is 100% dependent on your participation. We have many volunteering opportunities both in and outside the school day. Please direct any questions you may have to Irene Angelos, PTO President, firstname.lastname@example.org
We have lots of opportunities throughout the school year for Moms, Dads, grandparents, and community members.

Enviable Events -Jen Leineweber is taking charge of our PTO Events and this crew is all about fun! Team members will partner with one another to plan events for our Lab community, including the Book Fair, Lab Luau, movie nights and Mays Day Spring Festival. In addition, we’ll partner with the school to co-host events such as Reading Night during National Reading Week, STEM Night, Mays Moves/Fitness in conjunction with the Jump Rope for Heart fundraiser and an all-new Art Show! Let’s not forget our adults. This team will lead the planning for Mays Bash, an adults-only social event and silent auction night! We invite individuals who are social, like organizing parties and excel at planning with an eye for the details. There are plenty of opportunities to partner on this committee, so bring a friend or come make new friends!
Paws for a Cause -This group led by Kristin Johnston and Christina Prescott, is focused on inspiring our students to look beyond themselves and adopt a service oriented, caring and kind mindset. Our goal is to hold one service initiative each month whether it be helping members of our own Mays family, the community all around us, and/or national / global programs. Individuals with a passion for giving back and a desire to help our Labs understand the value of kindness and caring should join this new and exciting committee.
Community Counts -The Community Counts group will focus on developing and implementing new ideas to bring various parent and caregiver groups together and strengthen our Mays Chapel Community bonds in the process. Building on our Grade Level Ambassador program and grade level events, this committee can create clubs, affinity groups or just get people to meet up and go do something they are interested in. We want to foster parent interaction on a casual fun level and help to build
relationships and friendships. In addition, this group will manage the Teacher Appreciation related events the PTO runs including the back to school breakfast and teacher Appreciation week.
Nitty Gritty Committee-The Nitty Gritty Committee is in charge of logistics. This group will support both school and PTO activities and be willing to step up and assist as needed to get the job done. Most of the opportunities are one-time commitments, such as folder-stuffing, clean up and set up for events, organizing the PTO closet (bring your hard hat). There are some ongoing opportunities related to communications, such as website management and social media. Other fun activities may include weeding flower beds or assembling gifts for Teacher Appreciation Week! If you are organized, willing to roll up your sleeves, have technological know-how and don’t mind getting a little sweaty in the name of the PTO, this is your committee! This
is also a great committee for those of you who can’t commit to regular amounts of time but would love to be involved!
Pubs and Duds- Sorry…Not that kind of Pub! This group will work on producing PTO publications like the yearbook and the PTO directory. In addition, this group will handle spirit wear sales and production. If you are artsy, have any background in graphic design, printing merchandising, and accounting …we have jobs for you! These items are the favs for our kiddos…..help us!
How do I volunteer?
Since volunteers spend time directly with students, we take the extra precaution of only allowing registered adults to signup. If you haven't registered yet, you'll first need to do so here.
If you are registered, use the volunteer button above to request a volunteer link be sent to your email account. You can also login to our system from a browser or install the app to manage your volunteer selections.
All volunteers will receive periodic email with a link to volunteer as well as automatic reminders of their upcoming commitments.
